Convert tape from Symantec Backup Exec
We have been using Symantec Backup exec for years but recently switched to Veeam. I would like to import all of our long-term archives to a format that Veeam can read so that we don't have to maintain a Symantec server for the next 7 years just to read the old tapes. Has anyone done this? What methods might be possible to get the data into a format that is compatible with Veeam? It would be great if there was some way to duplicate data direct from tape to tape, but even tape to disk to tape might be feasible.

Re: Convert tape from Symantec Backup Exec
Hi AJ,
Unfortunately, tapes written by third party software are not supported. You could keep the sуmantec trial version somewhere close to written media and in case of real need install the trial and perform a restore.import all of our long-term archives to a format that Veeam can read so that we don't have to maintain a Symantec server for the next 7 years just to read the old tapes. Has anyone done this?
