Hy!
What is the difference between the import and inventorying tape?
Yes, I read this:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
But its not clear the differences for me. The inventorying tape describes this: "When you load new tapes in your tape device for the first time, these tapes are presented to Veeam Backup & Replication as Unrecognized." So, the new tapes will visible in Unrecognized media pool automatically? Or only will visible in this media pool after the Import tapes?
Thanks.

Re: Difference between import and inventorying tape
Hi Adam,
Import detects the tape (physical presence) in the library connected to Veeam B&R; inventory process identifies the tape content (matches it with the records in B&R databases) and makes it available to Veeam B&R console. There is a third operation - catalog which reads the content of the tape and adds the information about it to Veeam B&R database. This last operation is the longest one, but is required when you are restoring from tape media on a completely new B&R server.
