Drives cannot be locked
Folks,
We have moved our tape library to a new physical server. I removed the old tape server from B&R according to the instructions, and then I added the new server as a managed server, and then as a new tape server under Tape Infrastructure. The tape library, as well as the drives, were all discovered. However, the inventory fails with the error that it cannot lock the drives. Any ideas?
We are running B&R v11 with the latest patch level, and the library is an HPE StoreEver MSL6480 with two LTO-8 drives.
Kind regards,
PJ

Hello PJ
That sounds like a technical issue. Please provide a support case ID for this issue, as requested when you click New Topic. Without case number, the topic will eventually be deleted by moderators.
Did you have checked the tape library? Maybe the tape library still thinks that the drive is locked by the old server.
Best regards,
Fabian

Re: Drives cannot be locked
The problem has been solved! The Veeam support technician said that it could be a driver issue. And despite the fact that I had installed the latest HPE Service Pack for the tape server, it still needed new drivers for the library and the tape drives. I did a search at HPE and found later versions for HPE StoreEver libraries and drives, v4.6.0.0. So I am now doing an inventory in the library even as we speak!
Kind regards,
PJ
