Failed to retrieve the value of the string argument Changer

Post by WinstonWolf »

Hello ,

From Time to Time i received the following Error on an Tape Job :

Code: Select all

Tape not exchanged.
[This server] [TapeService] Failed to GetChangers
Failed to retrieve the value of the string argument 'Changer'.
Failed to retrieve XML node for argument 'Changer'.
Node "Changer" does not exist.
What means this Error ? The other Jobs runs normally .

Our Operating System is W2008 R2 . The Tape Libary is an MSL G3 HP Tape Libary , Firmware 8.70 , The Tape Drives are HP Ultrium LTO5 .

Thanks

Are there any actions happen at the time of error? I'm wondering because typical cause of tape exchange errors are operations executed outside of backup console via library interface, such as tape replacement, tape movement, etc. Thanks.

Hello again ,

Is it a Problem that the 2 Tape Jobs begin at the same Time ?

I have an Libary with 2 Tape Drives and the 2 Tape Jobs have different Media Pools .

Nope, it shouldn't. Though, just for the purpose of sheer testing, you might want to try to start them at different times and see whether the issue re-occurs.

Regardless of whether it's confirmed or not, it stands to reason to open a ticket with our support team and let them investigate it directly.

Thanks.
