When a job completes with an auto-loader it removes the tape from the drive and places it back in the magazine .
The logic here is when a tape is left in the loader the dust cover is open. Dust is a tapes worse enemy.
According to my drive the tape hasn't been returned 'Cartridge In Drive Slot 17'
Thanks

Re: Feature request for tape
This feature should already be there, and we use it for some tape jobs:
From the manual:
“You can also instruct a tape job to eject tape from drive after the job completes. To do so, navigate to the Options step of backup to tape job or file to tape job and select the Eject media once the job finishes check box.”
I think it is not default, as with a singe tape drive you maybe want eject the tape only once a week, and also with an autoloader you could use multiple different tape jobs that are written to the same tape (and do an eject only on the last job)
