Feature Request: "Home"->"Jobs"->"Tape" (GFS): add Column "Media Set"
Currently it is a bit tricky to determine, which tape is expected during a GFS tape job.
As far as i know, the only way is currently to dig into the log-files or to use the powershell.
It would be great if the list of tape jobs could also list the expected "media set" (in an extra column).

Hello Uwe,
what do you mean by "expected during a GFS tape job", the tape which will be used by the tape job?

Hello Uwe,
Backup to tape can work with any free or expired tape media, so there is no 'expected tape media' (unlike in restore from tape where you are prompted for a correct tape media to be inserted to continue the recovery). Basically, any tape can be used to continue the backup if it's not protected by our internal retention. I recommend to label the tape media with barcodes or even name the tapes via Veeam B&R UI to better reflect the usage sequence.
Additional, in the Veeam B&R Media Pool view you can check the Media set name in the corresponding column (to understand to which media pool this tape was assigned) and 'Expires in' column helps to track the tape media expiration (if the tape is expired by retention or not). Cheers!

Re: Feature Request: "Home"->"Jobs"->"Tape" (GFS): add Column "Media Set"
Hello Dima P.,
In this scenario the inserted tape can belong to one of the following media-sets (only):
"Week", "Month", "Quarter", "Year" or "Simple" (when not assigned).
When the wrong tape has been inserted, it will be ejected.
So when no one is in the office, there is no second change, when working from remote.
Best regards, Uwe
it depends - in a "standalone drive"-scenario for a "GFS"-Job, there is definitely an "expected tape".Backup to tape can work with any free or expired tape media, so there is no 'expected tape media'

Just for clarification - i requested a new column for the next expected "Media Set", not for the "Tape Label".
