Feature Request: Name of job that wrote RP to tape in props.

Post by pkelly_sts »

There may be another way of finding this info but when viewing Files | Tape | <path> | <backup file> | Properties | Restore Points (tab) , I can see tapes, library, media pool etc. info but it would be useful to me to know which JOB wrote the files to each of the tapes.

Reason is, I've noticed that some of my tape-based backups have 2 restore points whereas most of the remainder only have 1 (which is as I'd expect) but it's not clear which job put them there?

Hi Paul,

Good request, thanks! By the way, you could add a %job% variable to media set's namem then the name of job for which the media set is created will be added automatically to media set's name.

Cool! :)

Ah, interesting idea, I'll give it a try, I'm just wondering if it might get a little unwieldy with long job names. Useful option though, thanks.
