Forever incremental with 3 backup jobs to tape

Hi all,

I've configured a Veeam backup server as below:
- 5 backup jobs with forever forward incremental policy (some job with 14 days retention, some with 30 days)
- 3 backup to tape jobs (weekly, monthly, yearly) to different media tape with different retention.
- incremental backup option selected for enable the virtual synthetic full
- a script that enable/disable the backup to tape jobs based on the running day.

When the monthly (or yearly) jobs runs, it backups the vbks in the folders and create also the synthetic full. The real full backup (vbk) was already backuped up by the weekly job, so on the monthly and the yearly I've a redundant backup. I'd like to have only the synthetic one.
Is there a different way to set up the 3 backup to tape jobs?
Can the patch #2 solve this problem?

Hi Danielle,
It works like that by the current design. In next versions we are planning to add GFS retention for backup to tape jobs as well(now available for backup copy jobs only). The feature helps to avoid weekly/monthly/yearly backup duplication. So patch 2 does not include the feature.

By the way, you can use UI to choose particular days to run the job.
