HPE MSL6480 2 Drives but 1 shown as Standalone Drive

Post by louis417asdo »

Hi all,

I have Veeam 12.1.56 installed and have 1 Tape Drive: HPE StoreEver MSL 6480 with 2 drives.

I can see the Windows 2019 Tape Server online and get the tape device.
But only 1 of the drive is under the device, the other drive is under "Standalone Drive".
In Windows Device Manager, both Tape Drives are detected, no "Unknown" device.

The driver installed Wondiws Server is HPE StoreEver Tape Drivers for Microsoft Windows 4.6.0.0 (https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softw ... structions)

Structure on Veeam Console:
Libraries
----- HP MSL6480 6.40
-------- Drives
----------- Drive 1
-------- Medias
----------- 10 Tapes
---- HPE Ultrium 8 SCSI (Tape 0)
-------- Drives
----------- Drive 0
-------- Medias
----------- (Blank)

How to solve this or any idea why this happened? :?:

Best regards,

Louis
