IBM. Drivers.

Post by zoe.liao »

Hello,
For IBM TS3500 with LTO3 ,the drivers including two installation:

With install_exclusive.exe, the driver issues automatic reserves on open
and also prevent multiple open handles from the host to a drive from
existing at the same time, as is required by applications such as Tivoli
Storage Manager.
With install_nonexclusive.exe, the driver permits open handles from the
host to a drive to exist at the same time, as is required by applications such
as Microsoft Removable Storage Manager (RSM) or Microsoft Data Protection
Manager (DPM).

So we are wondering that for Veeam ,which should be used ? Because it seems that it depends on that backup application ..

So, the corresponding library isn’t shown under “Medium Changer devices” node in Windows device Manager? It seems that something is wrong with tape drivers. I’m wondering what type of IBM drivers you’re using. Exclusive or non-exclusive ones? It’s recommended that you use non_exclusive IBM drivers. Otherwise, you might face certain issues.

Also, have you tried to update to the latest product version?

Thanks.
