Hi,
Forgive me if this is a bit of a stupid question but i hope you can help.
We have about 40TBs of data backed up fine to disk over about 7 jobs, all using incremental backups. The retention of these backups is 60 restore points.
For tape backups, i really just want to backup a rolling 2 weeks to tape for DR purposes. However, when i create a tape job, and select the backup jobs, it has 20 Tbs of Full backup and 20TBs of incrementals (the 60 restore points).
Is there anyway of creating a full syntentic backup (or full backup) to tape, and then only new incrementals without backing up the whole 60 restore points from the disk incrementals. When i create a job and run it, it trys to backup everything.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Incremental Backups on Disk to Tape Query
Hi Mike,
You can schedule synthetic full on the source backup job, so the chain is wrapped in one VBK file. After that you just write the file on tape.
Thanks!
