I'm looking at getting my Veeam repository backed up on tape. My Veeam server is a virtual machine, so I'd like to use an iSCSI connection back to a tape device to avoid needing physical cards/servers. What is a good recommended tape device that supports iSCSI? A few that I've checked from Dell/Tandberg don't appear to support iSCSI.
Is this a bad practice or is it recommended to use a SAS connection instead?

Re: iSCSI + tape drives
Hi,
There is nothing wring with SAS and iSCSI, everything depends on what you have on site, i.e. between VBR and the library. For example if you have 10Gbit Ethernet vs SAS-1 (limited to 3Gbit/s), then I'd go with iSCSI over 10 Gbit.
Thanks
