Looking for guidance on best practice to achieve this.
Customer wants a VM backed up to tape and kept for 7 years.
After tape backup successful.
Production VM deleted, Backups on disk will eventually expire.
Only copy will be on tape.
But what type of media pool and settings please?
I'm thinking a GFS Media Pool:
Weekly overwrite:0
Monthly overwrite:0
Quartely overwite:0
Yearly overwrite: 7
OR a normal pool with Do Not Overwrite media.
I was also thinking of just using this media pool for anything else we wanted to keep long term for more than a couple of years. One-off's.
Thanks for advice.

Re: Long term archive on tape for 7 years - solution advice?
What schedule does a source backup job have? How frequently these backups should be archived to tapes (to be stored there for 7 years)? Thanks.Customer wants a VM backed up to tape and kept for 7 years.
