media pool retention setting

We just selected to "protect data for...11 months" on our Monthly tape media pool. We changed it from "do not protect data". It asked me if I wanted to "apply new retention settings to all existing media." I selected NO. For our upcoming November monthly, will I be able to overwrite this tape? Thanks!

Hi. In your case tapes already written with 'Do not protect' option may be overwritten, the new ones will have 11-month retention. Tape expiration date is shown in Tape Infrastructure - Media Pools - YourMediaPoolName - 'Expires in' column so you may check which settings were applied to the specific tapes.
