Move tapes between library

Hello,
In the coming weeks, our customer will buy a new tape library where the drives are compatible with the cartridges located in the old tape library.
My questions are:
- What is the easiest way for Veeam to logically move the cartridges from the old tape library to the new one? Export from old TL followed by an import to new TL?
- How long could it take, in Veeam, to move the location of 1000 tapes?

The easiest option will be to expand currently media pool to a newly-introduced library and physically move tapes to it. Thanks.
