need information on block size of drives

Hello
what is the difference between the value of the block size in the parameters of the drives, I have a MSL HP6480, with tapes LTO7, and at the moment we use block size 262144, I would like to know if it is the good block size, and what is the properieter recomonder for a performace better

if you google a bit you see that performance is not that important in this case.
its nice to get more performance, but that was a bigger problem with older tape drives before lto - as far as i have read.
acutally you should think about compatibility.
some say never above 256 others say not above 64 kb. veam set it to 256k for me by default.
so i would keep it there.
otherwise you have to test each blocksize which performs better for your data and if its compatible with a replacement/recovery tape drive.
