Hello,
I read the documentation for the use of tape in backups and restore for a future implementation, and I still have some questions.
The first and main one is (as indicated in the tile ) when you do a restore from tape (throught a staging repository or not), does Veeam use the x tape that are available?
More generally, what is the Veeam process when doing a backup restore from tape?
If I want to restore 30VMs that are all in the same job, how Veeam will handle the request?
Thanks for your return and explanation

Re: Parallel use of Tape for restore?
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. The links is helpful but i am still confused.
I understand that for a VM with multiple disk, the disk are restored parallely.
But for restoring more than one VM ? For Restore Directly to Infra, I understand this is not parallel
=> For each VM, Veeam starts a separate restore job. However, you can select multiple VMs to restore: in this case, Veeam will queue the restore jobs and run them one after the other.
Through staging repository, is it the same?
For both case, it seems that a restore of multiples VM for LTO7 tape will be very long.
Am i wrong?
Thanks

Re: Parallel use of Tape for restore?
If we're talking about one tape holding backups of several VMs, then, the answer is yes. VMs will be restored sequentially due to the way data gets stored and read on/from a tape media. Thanks.Through staging repository, is it the same?
