Hello,
I'm looking for some suggestions for creating a tape backup job for a backup that runs every six hours. I need a weekly full backup to tape for a vm that is 2.4tb in size. The problem I'm seeing is that if the tape job runs, the backup job with the 6 hour interval is missed which also then affects replication to a DR site. Our tape drive is LTO6 and isn't fast enough to write the amount to take in 6 hours.
What are the community recommendations for getting around this issue?

Re: Prevent tape job from stopping normal backup job
Hi Brandon,
I think there are 2 options:
1. To create backup copy job and use it as a source for tape job
2. To change schedule of primary job and extend 6 hours window so that weekly tape job will have enough time to process data
Thanks!

Re: Prevent tape job from stopping normal backup job
Thanks for the follow up. I was also thinking about a separate backup job for a weekly full to serve as the source of the tape job. Looks like I'm on the right path. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a neat little feature or function first.
