Hello,
Our tapes have been recently fixed, but I know something's up when the job has processed, read and transferred the same amount of data. Could someone please tell me what's going on with this and how to get it back to normal? Thanks

Re: Process, Read and Transferred are the same number
Hello,
that sounds normal to me. How did you see that in the past and can you maybe provide screenshots and more details whether you use file-to-tape or backup-to-tape?
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Process, Read and Transferred are the same number
Hi Hannes,
Apologies for the late reply. Our tape backup is backup to tape and something is up with it. We had a scramble around at the start of the month because our backups were insanely large for our tapes to handle. However, since then, our main backup has had different values between processed, read and transferred, and has been working completely fine. This is what I always believed was supposed to happen? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks,
Jack

Re: Process, Read and Transferred are the same number
Hello,
the values for machine backup jobs and backup to tape jobs cannot be compared. For machine backups (VMs, agents...), the software applies data reduction (data read vs. transferred). As the backup files on disk are already "data reduced", the copy to tape is just a "plain copy".
Please open a support case, if you have technical issues with your tape backup as requested when clicking on "new topic"
