Tape and Encryption

Quick question:

If the source job for the Tape backup job uses encryption, will my vbk's on the tape be encrypted if the tape media pool encryption is disabled?

Reason I ask is because all our source jobs are encrypted but when I enable encryption on the tape media pool the tape job slows down by more than half:

without encryption: 285MB/s;
with encryption: 128MB/s

Hi David,

Indeed, there is no reason to use encryption twice. You either encrypt backup file via source backup to disk job or you use tape media encryption.
