Tape Backup Error

Post by Rmachado »

Hello.

ive having problems with backup to tape job.

It completes ok with small backup to tape jobs, but it gives an error when the backup to tape job is running for a long time ( when its bigger than 250 gb).

Also, it seems that it stops to work for small jobs when the error happens in big ones too, so in a short window, it seems that nothing will work.

Most of the time, i have this error

Code: Select all

[CTapeBackupTaskPerformerExceptionCatchingDecorator] Full backup: Tape fatal error.
The system cannot find the path specified.
Tape write error
Exception from server: Reconnectable protocol device was closed.
and this one

Code: Select all

 ERR |Tape fatal error.
The system cannot find the path specified.
 Tape write error
 --tr:Error code: 0x00000003
Exception from server: Shared memory connection was closed.
--tr:Failed to read data from shared memory IO device.

Hello,
from what I can see on the case comments, I can only recommend to continue with support (looks like hardware issue).

At least I would not take guesses from anyone who does not fully understand the logs :-)

Best regards,
Hannes

I also had the same problem.
After replace the tape driver with microsoft verison, the tape drive work well.
Don't install factory Tape driver.

In the error "The system cannot find the path specified", the path is not a file/directory path, it is a function of Tape Library called "Path failover", and you need to purchase the function license and import it into your tape library.
