I am having issues with tape compression. my lto7 tape streamer with lto7 tapes are not compressing. so the storage space is only 5.5TB instead of 15.
Compression is activated. (use hardware compression when available).
I am writing repositories to tape. backups in repositories are not compressed.
Anybody have any ideas ?

Re: Tape Compression
Hello Paul,
If you are writing Veeam backups to tape, which are most likely compressed (check the source backup job settings), you wont see any benefit from the hardware compression. I'd recommend to stay with raw size when you are planning your tape backup strategy, since tape compression benefits from the type of the data you are taping out. Cheers!
