Tape feature request

is there anyway to add a feature to the tape media to allow the database to track how many times the tape was mounted, read/written to and possibly the first time the tape was used?

Also I would like to see a policy being able to automatically retire tapes when they reach a certain criteria based on the selection above.

We do not collect this sort of information. Instead, we rely on drive/library itself to instruct us when a tape gets retired or corrupted.
