Our "Virtual machines to backup" jobs targets -> Resource pools and tapes use GFS Media pool.
Works fine. Been running long.
Then delete some VM's in that resource pool.
Now tape jobs show:
05/06/2024 22:00:18 :: [xxxxxxxx] Tape backup was not created for 29/05/2024: there are no new restore points between 16/05/2024 and 29/05/2024
I would suggest / require that Veeam should have an option, NOT to show these warnings in this case.
It should be obvious that there can't be restore points, if there is no such VM any more.
This is a known problem like this link:
tape-f29/tape-backup-was-not-created-fo ... 90890.html
As far as I understand, this is still a problem for others and for us.
Please give us a chance / choise to run tape jobs without these warnings.

The same thing happens in our environment. Is there any solution for this?

Re: "there are no new restore points" - deleted VMs
Hi MarcosH,
Right now this will be triggered given the situation, and two options right now:
1. Enable Retention for deleted items in the primary job, and that will clear the no-longer needed backups; if you still need these backups, consider Backup Move for the machines that no longer exists to a "dummy" job, then just delete the dummy job or Detach the backups from the job to move them to the Orphaned postfixed backups nodes.
2. Use the following registry value to change the Warning to an Informational message:

Note that the registry value is global, and will behave this way for all Tape GFS jobs.Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\
Name: TapeGFSMissedBackupNotification
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: set it to 0 to change the message type to Informational (green)
