Active Directory integration for Agent

Post by Niksavoy »

Hi guys.
Sorry if this is already being duscussed.

Is there are easy way to integrate Windows Agent with AD ?

My issue :
We have some PC`s running in AD
They are running WIn 10 and Veeam Agent for Windows is making scheduled backup to Veem BR Respository.
But when some one is pusshed to change AD password the Agent needs to be reconfigured with the new password for the AD in order to continue to make backups
On the other side the respository is giving acsess only for AD users

The way i see it :
Is there a any whay to say to the Agent - use current Windows User credentials - like the one you have when you start Veeam Console ?
Is there are future upgrade for such AD integration or some road map for it ?

Kind Regards
Nik

Hi Nikolay.

Unfortunately VAW does not have such integration with AD, so it cannot update user password automatically. However, you can use computer account while setting up repository access permissions in Veeam B&R consolel. That will allow you to configure agent with account checkbox unchecked on the Veeam Backup Repository step of the wizard.
