Agent update in B&R 9.5 Update 3a

Folks,

When I upgrade the Veeam server to B&R v9.5 Update 3a, is the Windows Agent installation package also updated, so that the server may update the agent in physical servers automatically during Protection Group rescan? Or do I have to update the agent manually, somehow, in the Veeam server?

And also, does Windows Agent v2.1 work together with Update 3a, or is v2.2 mandatory?

Hi Per,

Yes, if you have checked auto update client in protection groups, however, be careful since there is an issue reported by our customer here.
Agent for Windows 2.2 isn't mandatory to work with Update 3a, but it's highly recommended to use the most recent version of the products because a lot of bugs were fixed between those. Thanks!

What did you say yes to? That the agent is automatically updated with the 3a update, or that I must update it manually in the VBR server?

I was talking about agents package update so you can initiate an update to version 2.2 or it can automatically update agents in protection groups. Thanks!

So the B&R v9.5 Update 3a contains an update of the agent, as well? So if I update the VBR server to 3a, the new agent will be pushed out to the physical servers automatically during the next protection group rescan, if that is the setting in the group?
