Hi all,
we just deployed VAW on one server in a remote site and everything is working great so far. I have one question: Currently, we are using volume level backup of drive D:\ on that server. I now would like to add a second server to the same job but would like to only backup the E:\drive from that second server. So that D:\ from Server1 and E:\ from Server2 are backed up in one job.
It seems that this is not possible at the moment, as the volume selection from a job appears to apply to all servers within that job. Am I right and do I have to separate both servers in two jobs to achive my goal? Our version is 9.5.
Thanks
Michael

Re: Backing up separate volumes from different machines in one Job
Hello Michael,
Only available volumes are processed. As an example:
First server has volumes C and E
Second server has volumes C and D
You create one backup job and add volumes C, E and D to the backup scope. As a result:
Backup of the first server will contain volumes C and E
Backup of the second server will contain volumes C and D
Missing volumes wont produce an error or warning, so you are good to go. Cheers!

Re: Backing up separate volumes from different machines in one Job
Hi Dima,
thank you! This means I have to create a second job because I don't want the D:\ drive from the second server to be backed up as well. But a second job will work for me!
Best Regards
Michael

Michael,
Another backup job sounds like a good plan. Thank you for the heads up!
