Hi,
I am using the Free Veeam Agent v4.01 for backups on my Win10 PC. Some of the files to be backed up are on OneDrive and synchronized on my local HD. Everythings works fine except that files in my Personal Vault are not being backed up, even after I have unlocked the vault. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance! Joe

Re: backup of Personal Vault in Windows 10
Hi Joe,
is it mounted as a reparse point?
Symbolic links are not backed up by the Agent:

Thanks!Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows does not back up data to which symbolic links are targeted. It only backs up the path information that the symbolic links contain. After restore, identical symbolic links are created in the restore destination.

Re: backup of Personal Vault in Windows 10
Hi Natalia,
Thanks for your quick answer. i'm not sure what a reparse point is (even after searching for the definition
, but the Personal Valult is accessed via a link, which, when clicked, launches a request on my mobile phone for access approval. That said, I think I understand the Veeam limitiation you quoted above. Do you or anyone know if his might be resolved in future Veeam updates? Basically, if I'm unable to backup the Vault, it's risky for me put documents in it the Vault, which defeats the Vault's purpose. (I know that MS keeps backups on their servers for a limited time, but to be safe, I need a separate external backup as well.) Thanks again, and have a nice day. Joe

Re: backup of Personal Vault in Windows 10
It looks like your personal vault is on One Drive.
Veeam Agent cannot backup your One Drive Data and I think, this product will never be able to backup personal One Drive Data. Because there are no APIs in the personal One Drive environment todo backups.

Re: backup of Personal Vault in Windows 10
Hi Joe.
I doubt that will happen in the nearest future - Personal Vault is an encrypted container protected with the machine key, main idea of which is to give you an isolation from outside sources - vss, api, commandlets etc. If backup application could have gotten access to the Vault that easy to protect documents in it, a potential hacker could do the same to steal the data.
We have noted your feature request and will see how many similar requests will rise in the future.
/Thanks!
