Hi there,
my laptop has some hardware issue and will be replaced by the vendor, I have to make a Bare metal backup before returning the laptop.
I'm just wondering whether I have to Sysprep (Generalize) Windows 10 before backing up with Veeam, in order to remove the Windows SID.
Is this necessary?
What if I just backup from my admin Windows user without sysprep? Will I have issues on the new PC?
It will be the same laptop model.
I've heard that in any case the Windows License can be replaced with the new one of the new PC (Because the backup will bring also the license key) with some command slmgr /ipk
Thing is with sysprep basically it will create a new user for the generalized image, I would like not to create new users for this purpose but just backup my admin user.

Re: Bare Metal Backup on new PC, Sysprep needed?
Hello Marcello.
If it's just bare metal restore to a new machine sysprep is not required. Cheers!
