Can't install Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows on Windows 11

I am trying to install Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows version 5.0.1.4584 on Windows 11 Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000 but it fails on the last step on starting the services.
I have tried to uninstall the previous Veeam installation, removing the SQL installs, and also removed the Veeam folders in ProgramData an Program Files but nothing worked.

Has anyone else come upon this and managed to solve it?

Besides installing on unsupported OS, your installation log is green and clean - msiexec returns 0, which is successful installation status.
After installation completes, we give command to start the service and wait for reply, and here comes error back from OS.
It will be worth checking Windows Event Log for problems with service startup.

Sorry. I went after the information from an previous post that the next release would support Windows 11.

Didn't read the release notes for the latest version. Will have to wait then for the next release.
Do you have an ETA for Windows 11 support?

When reading the Windows Event Log I find this Error report fro SQLLocalDB 11.0:
Windows API call WaitForMultipleObjects returned error code: 575. Windows system error message is: {Application Error}
The application was unable to start correctly (0x%lx). Click OK to close the application.
Reported at line: 3621.

So something with the SQL doesn't play nice with Windows 11.

Do you have an ETA for Windows 11 support?
Veeams goal is always to support a new edition within 90 days of a GA Date.
For windows 11, that means it could take until 5th of january. It was released as a GA release on 5th Oct.
Normally, it doesn‘t take this long if small changes needs to be done in the software. But there is also the possibility that it could take longer. It depends on the QA Testing and found issues.

Support for a new edition from day one is really difficult to deliver. Most of the time, there are last minute changes by the vendor which could lead to some necessary code changes on veeam‘s site.

So I found this thread when trying to get Veeam Agent to install on Win11. It was a Samsung Laptop, with a SSD with 32K hardware sectors. The Veeam Agent service wouldn't start.

Event Viewer reported:
Service cannot be started. System.Exception: Error occurred during LocalDB instance startup: SQL Server process failed to start.

The problem was found in the sql logs:
Cannot use file `c:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\VeeamEndPoint\master.mdf` because it was originally formatted with sector size 4096 and is now on a volume with sector size 32768. Move the file to a volume with a sector size that is the same as or smaller than the original sector size.

Problem is Windows 11 doesn't simulate sector sizes to SQL server like Win10. See:

registry edit for now is a workaround, looking forward to fix integrated with Agent installer

yes, we will drop SQL localDB in the next version. That solves the issue by removing the component.
