I installed VEB on some PCs and it looks a great tool.
I need some clarification about the disk space usage and requirements.
Let me provide an example: imagine that the size of the first .vbk file is about 615 GB.
The available space on the target disk is about 930 GB.
What should I expect to happen when the next full backup will be created?
In other words, how much space is required on the target disk?
Should I allocate at least twice (or more) the space required by the first .vbk file or can I allocate just 1,5 times the space allocated by the first .vbk file?
I looked at the manual but I was unable to find the answer.
Happy new year to everybody!

Re: Clarification about disk space requirements
Rather difficult for us to foresee . After the first backup it will be an incremental. The size of that one will depend on the churn. The more changed files, the more space needed. To give you an example of my situation... I have 14 restore points and my total size (full + all incrementals) is just below the total size of my total disk size.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Clarification about disk space requirements
Thank you for your message.
Reading the manual I got the idea that sometimes a new full backup will be created. Is it correct?
Using Veeam B&R in a vSphere environment I see that sometimes new full backup are created, but I can select when they will...
At the moment a new full backup is created the space used by the first full backup doubles until the first full backup is deleted.
Is it the same for VEB?
Regards
Marius

Re: Clarification about disk space requirements
Hi Marius,
According to the feedback, the size of the first full backup in most of the cases is 2/3 of the original size. As Mike said – it’s hard to predict the exact number for every single user, better run the first backup and check it yourself

No, it is forever incremental, so there are no periodic full backups.Reading the manual I got the idea that sometimes a new full backup will be created. Is it correct?
