Correct procedure for backup up Hyper-V VM's

Hi Guys.

We would like to begin using Veeam Agent 2.0 for backing up our customers hyper-v server to our Cloud Connect.
However, I'm a unsure what the correct procedure is - can we just choose the vhdx/vmcx file in a normal file-copy job,
or is the correct procedure to install the agent in the VM and choose alle of the virtual drives in the vm, or can
we freely choose between these 2 soloutions, or do we need to take a completely different approach to the issue?

I've seached the forum (and googled it), but haven't been able to find an answer to this.

The correct procedure for backing up your customer VMs to your Cloud Connect is to use our Veeam Backup & Replication product, instead Veeam Agent for Windows.

Another approach that will work (but not recommended) is installing Veeam Agent for Windows in every VM. Again, this is a sub-optimal approach, but it is fully supported nevertheless.

Host-level backup with the agent (that is, installing Veeam Agent for Windows on Hyper-V host and backing up VM files) is unsupported and will not work anyway.
