Downloading New Versions (Free License)

Post by Hariseldon1 »

Perhaps there already is something like this -- if this is the case, I humbly seek enlightenment :D

I wish there was a way I could automate a mirror of some download path to check every month for updates... and download said updates+release notes+checksum files

Two approaches come to mind:
1) Veeam provided utility <-- enter account information, specify local directory to store, specify frequency 'every x months'
2) Veeam https download central idea below

for example:
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... ws/latest/
which would reflect the latest version
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... 1.1039.zip
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... 1.1039.md5
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... .1039.sha1
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... _notes.pdf

and perhaps even the past "x number" versions would be available
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... hived/2.0/
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... hived/2.2/
https://myusername:mypassword@VeeamAcco ... hived/3.0/

et cetera

That way I can configure my own wget script to monthly download updates to keep on prem

For the free version there is the update tab.

Other options are using Chocolatey but this depends how fast the package owner updates it: https://chocolatey.org/packages/veeam-agent
