Case # 04968203
For a while I was getting these errors when backing up this windows 10 pc to a 4 tb ext hdd:
Failed to compact full backup file Details: Agent: Failed to process method {Transform.CompileFIB}: There is not enough space on the disk. Failed to write data to the file [V:\VeeamBackup\KUH Backup\KUH BackupD2021-08-01T180029.temp].
To arrive at that error/fail took about 8 hours each time with lots of disk activity. The backup vbk file is about 1.7 tb.
I bought a 8 tb ext hdd and the first backup was "normal", no errors. But now I've had two all night fails with a very similar error message:
Failed to compact full backup file Details: Agent: Failed to process method {Transform.CompileFIB}: Application is shutting down.
There is plenty of disk space. Does it mean that the original error wasn't really due to lack of disk space? What can I do about this issue?

Hello,
I mean, disabling "defragment and compact full" would probably solve the issue, but that's not finding the root cause. Compact full requires around the full backup size free disk space (the full backup is written again)

continue working with support. It makes no sense speculating about the root cause on a forum. Support can investigate logs and find the reason.What can I do about this issue?

which is some kind of expected as the case number shows that you are using the free version without any support contractA fair number of times I don't hear from support
