Restore by remote desktop or after local restart

Post by timbob » 3 people like this post

Hi guys!

First - I want to say to the Veeam Team: YOU DID A GREAT JOB!

Second - I want to say to Veeam CEO (or what ever): THANKS FOR MAKING ENDPOINT BACKUP FREE!

Third: A few point:
- The possibility to wake up, backup and shutdown a PC is perfect!
- The Integration in B&R is great. A centrallized free backup solution. Amazing!
- so many small thing...

The feature request:
My small company works for a couple of small schools (< 200 kids/ school) arround the world. On each school we are using B&R for VMs and Acronis TI for PCs. To switch from acronis to endpoint, I need the possiblity to restore a PC without interaction after restart or by remote desktop.

On my schools:
1. Case: Windows is buggy
Solution: I connect by teamviewer, start Acronis local and tell the programm to restore the entire PC after restart.
-> PC is shutting down, Starts and starts the recovery process and finally reboots in the recovered Windows
PROBLEM: Not possible with Endpoint Backup

2. Case: Windows cannot start
Solution: Someone in the school boots our "Bart PE Win 8" USB Drive, we connect by Teamviewer and restore the Backup
PROBLEM: Not possible with Endpoint Backup. I can only boot a very special (by Driver) USB Drive, I must give important credentials someone and explain everything by telephone or by skype.

I need only one remote restore solution toswitch to Endpoint! Only a very simple (a to one kind of machine addicted) USB Drive or DVD is not enought.

Is there any any other way comming on next releases to restore a PC?
Or do you have any Idea to get Endpoint portable or on a Bart PE stick?

Best Regeards Tim

P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

Tim,

First, don't worry about your bad English... I am Belgian myself so... ;-)

Second: It isn't indeed possible today but we will certainly discuss this kind of functionality with the team. You are not the first to ask for it ;-)

Thanks

Mike
