Full/Incremental process with rotating USB drives

Post by mweglein »

Hey,

Just wanted to understand how VEB does full and incremental backups with rotating USB drives.

Example. I have two USB drives I want to rotate weekly. I've registered both USB drives in VEB. I set my restore points to 14 days.
It proceeded to do a full backup and then subsequent incremental backups on each drive as I changed them out.

Just wanted to verify how the process works in this case.

Thanks!!!

Hi Mike,

As far as I understood it, it will make 1 full on each USB drive, and all the others will be incremental.

It needs to do that, because when you lose one device, you still need the full and the incrementals to be able to recover

Cheers

Mike
