Full restore error: Failed to decompress LZ4 block: Bad crc

Post by plp@lenta.ru »

Situation: restoring from a full backup (not an increment) of all drives (3 partitions on the system SSD 240GB and 1 on the HDD 1Tb).
When restoring the system disk C, an error occurs with the message:

Code: Select all

Failed to decompress LZ4 block: Bad crc (original crc: 56acf3db, current crc: 895acfe0)
So the recovery process is interrupted.
How to recover drive C with ignoring errors? It is necessary to recover the data that is possible.

It is very important to restore the system because there are many development tools installed on the workstation that will be difficult to reinstall.

Hello,
looks like you stored your data on a backup system that lost the data. Chances of recovery are very low to restore from broken backup files.

I cannot read the case as I don't speak Russian. For future use, I recommend to follow the 3-2-1 rule and then it is not a big deal if a backup storage fails.

Best regards,
Hannes
