[Feature Request] Improve ransomware resiliency

Post by dieterv » Jun 19, 2017 11:17 am

The "When backup target is connected" > "Eject removable storage once backup is completed" option seems to be functioning as designed.
However, when my computer reboots (for whatever reason) after a backup was completed, the external media gets mounted and stays mounted until the next backup is processed.
If you configure to back up no more than once a day, that might become a problem.
An extra option "Eject removable storage when backup is skipped" or some-such might help here.

Hi dieterv,

Thanks for sharing your feature request. Regarding your issue – we perform ejection of a software level, look like OS resets storage adapters during reboot, thus you see the drive connected. Try to change the automount options like described in this article
