Offline disks backup

Post by lowlander »

Hi,

just to inform you about the following.

End user wants to backup physical off host proxy. On This server VEB was installed to backup mode "Entire Computer". Hence this was a off host proxy SAN policy was configured as offline shared and automount was disabled. This results in all Shared Volumes presented as offline without a drive letter. Using VEB with the "Entire Computer" backup configuration, this resulted in a shared volume set online and windows added a drive letter to it.

End user solved this with configuring the backup mode to Volume level backup.

Anyone experienced the same behaviour ?

Hi lowlander,

That’s indeed unexpected; Endpoint should not somehow affect the existing OS configuration. May I ask you to open a case from the affected machine (Endpoint Control Panel > Support> Tech Support), so we could check the application logs? Thanks
