Once backup is taken, computer should...

Post by mkaec »

VEB notes that if a scheduled backup is set, the computer will be woken up from sleep/hibernate. Then there is an option for what to do at the end of the backup.

It's not clear to me if the post-backup action occurs always or only when the computer is woken up. Ideally, what I would like is for the computer to be put back into the pre-backup state. If I left it running, I want it to stay running. If it was woken up from sleep, I'd like it to be put back into sleep mode.

Hi Mark,

There is prompt with the timer at the end of the backup job asking is it ok to perform a post job activity. If you want to keep the PC is running - just click Cancel.

That won't really help if I am not there to click the button. It looks like you answered my question, though. I guess the post-job activity always runs even if VEB did not wake the computer. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Yes, that’s correct.
