Restore RDM to a different location

Post by rjv1971 »

I am backing up SQL server with physical RDMs disks using the Veeam agent. Then I use a backup copy job to copy this backup to another location. Can I now restore this backup at the second location? Do I need to pre-define the RDM disks? Then remap the disks in the restore job?

Hello Ron,

Yes you can use the backup file created by backup copy job to perform all types of recovery available in Veeam B&R console, Agent UI or via Recovery Media. For last two options you need to connect to the repository with the account that has access to the desired backup. In order to do that select Veeam repository in the recovery wizard and type in Veeam B&R admin account to see this backup file. Cheers!
