My apologies if this is answered elsewhere or is a FAQ..I did look..
Like many folks, I would assume, our backup servers exist in a higher security zone than many of our servers. The high-security zones can talk out freely, but lower-security zones cannot initiate a connection to a higher zone.
If I ready the docs correctly, there is a port, tcp 10001, that needs to be open INTO the server for the connection to initiate.
Is there an established way to initiate the connection from the server, or work around this in some way so that my low-security server can be backed up to my high-security Veeam server/store?
Thanks,
George

Re: Server-Initiated backup
Hi George,
You should have all listed ports opened when backing up to a VBR repository or shared folder. An option might be to look at Veeam Cloud Connect as it supports backup to a cloud repository via single port.
