setup cannot be launched as computer is waiting for restart

I'm unable to install the Agent for Microsoft Windows as I keep getting this same error. "setup cannot be launched as computer is waiting for restart". This happens even after the restart and update of the computer. Working with Windows 8. I searched the community for the answer and found a couple of instances of the issue but in each case the thread stopped short of the answer to the problem.

Hello David,

Check if Operating System is not sitting in’ waiting for update’ state. If it does, install all the required updates and rerun the installation.

I found a few articles on the web relating to file re-name operations with specific fixes for like MS Exchange for instance - but I also found this thread here on the forums. Check it out and post back your results.
