During Veeam Agent install I can see that SQL Express is installed as well.
Can anyone shed some more light on its purpose and whether it contains some critical metadata required for chain integrity and data recovery?
In other words, if I am backing up my data volume to a NAS device and my file server (running Veeam) goes boom, will the chain files on NAS be enough to recover my data onto the new hardware?

Re: Veeam Agent has a database?
Hello Max,
Database keeps the agent configuration, job settings, UI values. All Veeam backups are fully portable and you can use those with any other Veeam installation (just one note here that at some cases you cannot restore backup made with one platform to another platform, for example you cannot restore vm backup made with Veeam B&R via Veeam Agent for Windows). Cheers!
