Veeam Agent v2 not seeing updates when checking for updates?

Post by Mgamerz »

Note that this is not an issue for me since I manually pushed the agent to my client systems already, but something I noted and curious of.

I had 4 agents on 2.2 workstation edition. Their backup repo was at 4a. From what I could tell, until 4a came out, clients would not see updates from 2.2. However since 4a was out my clients still didn't see updates to 3.0.1 - is this still blocked from updates or something? I manually upgraded them with a client push, but I don't know if this is intentional and I manually have to update my clients or something.

Hi Mgamerz,

I would need to ask whether the update functionality is already activated for agents. The way we work here at Veeam is that we release a version first (GA) but wait for a couple of weeks before we turn on the update servers. This allows us to monitor upgrades for a few weeks and see if there are no specific, missed, blocking issues. If we would turn it on from the day we release, we obviously risk to make a lot of customers mad at us :-)

I will try to get more information if it is already enabled or not.

Mgamerz,

Auto update servers went live last week, so if you have any 2.2 agent please click check for updates and let us know if you see the latest version available for download. Thanks!
