Very large .vib file

I see that I have a .vbk file that's about 820GB.
Subsequent .vib files range from 1 to 10GB
And then a .vib file shows up that's 720GB.
That seems strange.

Do .vbk files ever get replaced with new ones on a cycle or... ?

It depends on the retention policy settings and periodic full option.
Please provide more details on the agent's job configuration. Thanks!
