Re: Debian 12 Support
Hello,
Does anyone know the solution for this error:
"Extend partition for device [/dev/zd0p6] [230:6] not found."
I am doing a backup of a Proxmox 8.0 server.
Job in Veeam B&R CE: 12.0.0.1420
Backup mode: "Volume level backup"
Objects: /dev/disk/by-id/ata....
Veeam Linux Agent (installed on Proxmox 8.0):
- veeam: 6.0.3.1221
- blksnap: 6.0.3.1221
I tried adding "deviceIgnore" to "/etc/veeam/veeam.ini", but the error persists.
On Proxmox 7.4, an older version 5.0.2.4567 of veeam and veaamsnap worked fine.
Also if removed zvol volume (really this volume is vm disk) backup successed with veeam 6.0.3.1221.
More detailed log (/var/log/veeam/config/veeamconfig.log).

Re: Debian 12 Support
Problem with "Extend partition for device [/dev/zd0p6] [230:6] not found.".
It seems that the issue is resolved by setting volmode=dev for the zvols used in VMs.

Re: Debian 12 Support
Hello Allan,
Upcoming release will support it. Very soon.
Meanwhile you can use latest VAL with Debian 12.5, as technically there is no compatibility issues.

Re: Debian 12 Support
Still can't get it to run....
:/
Removed everything from prior installations, including the leftover configs (apt purge ~c).
"apt remove veeam*"
Re-installed the repository:
"dpkg -i veeam-release-deb_1.0.9_amd64.deb"
Re-installed Veeam
"apt install veeam"
What am I missing?

Still no-go.
Uninstalled EVERYTHING including the config files.
Rebooted.
Did the following:
apt-git install blksnap veeam
Followed instructions for "Importing MOK for DKMS Kernel Module"
(enroll worked)
Rebooted again.
Got:

Re: Debian 12 Support - Failed Backup on Debian
Ok....
Welp... Since I'm running the free version, support couldn't help.
BUT...
I found the issue.
Apparently, there were some previously undiagnosed bad sectors on the source hard disk. Not sure why the issue didn't show up in the normal disk checks, but, they were there.
Swapped out the drive and copied over what was available on the old one and all is now well.
