[Feature Request] Support for CentOS 8 Stream

Post by schewee »

Did a quick search and only saw two threads related to CentOS 8 Stream and neither were an actual feature request so here it is.

Support (Case # 05217084) confirmed CentOS 8 is not supported and suggested posting a feature request on the forums.

It would be great if we could get official CentOS 8 Stream support added to the Veeam Agent for Linux.

We are running:

CentOS Stream release 8 on a physical server
Veeam B&R is 11.0.1.1261 P20211211
Agent is veeam-5.0.2.4567-1.el8.x86_64

When I try to run an Active Full job I get this error:

Code: Select all

LvmDriver: Failed to create LVM instance.
Failed to perform managed backup
I performed this workaround (veeam-agents-for-linux-mac-aix-solaris- ... 44748.html):
# vim /etc/lvm/lvm.conf
# // Change the following:
# units="h"
# // Save,close
# // Reboot server
My Active Full is now running and pulling data.

While I got it working, this doesn't count as official support. I will update this post if the Active Full fails.

Hello,
correct, CentOS Stream is not in the list of supported operating systems.

Thanks for posting the feature request. We count your request +1 to the existing requests 👍

Best regards,
Hannes
