[MAC] Veeam Agent save USB drive data

Post by e.cacciatori »

Hi,

i installed Veeam Agent 2.0.0.750 for Mac on MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 and selected to save "Data on USB Drives", but when the process start, save only the main disk / and no usb volumes.
The USB Volume is an APFS Encrypted.

Anyone have my same problem?

Hi Emanuele

Does it work when a USB volume is not encrypted?

That is, the USB drive is accessible via macOS file browser as is, and there are no actions that have to be done in order to unlock it?
If so, then please open a support case, upload the logs there, and post the case number here.

Thanks!

Hi,

no action is required to unlock the drive, it's automatic on Mac start.
I open the case N. 05961480 — Unable to save USB data

Hi
I have the same problem. Was this resolved for you ?
The other thing I tried is specify the path of folders I wanted to get backed up but I'm afraid I used the wrong syntax, it did not backup anything (nothing to backup)
Thanks

[MERGED] [MAC] backup USB directory

Post by GabesVirtualWorld »

Hi,
Trying to backup a subdir on an USB volume. Just the subdir. In the backup job objects section:
- NOT SELECTED: Include data on external USB drives (since I don't want a full USB disk backup)
- Personal files -> Documents, Pictures, Exlude: user data on network share.
- The following system objects -> /Volumes/EXTR55/backup (where EXTR55 is the USB disk and "backup" is the subdir I want to backup).

When performing a backup, the log says:
Backing up files /Volumes/EXTR55/backup, /Users/gabrievanzanten/Pictures, /Users/gabrievanzanten/Documents
But it just contains 3.49GB of data (sum of Documents and Pictures).

Am I hitting the same bug as veeam-agents-for-linux-mac-aix-solaris- ... 85892.html?

Hey Gabrie

I moved your report. If it's the same bug, then please use the same topic :)
Just to ask, do you have a case number which confirms the same bug is responsible for the issue?

Well, actually I was asking if it might be the same issue because that saves me from searching further and creating a support case.
So not sure yet if it is the same topic :-)

Are there any details about the bug mentioned so I can compare it to my situation?

Not behind my Mac right now, but after discovering the issue, I upgrade to the latest available version yesterday and the issue remains.

Hello Gabrie,

As latest version of the Veeam Agent for Mac has been released, please update the agent (2.1.0.244) and rerun your backup scenario.
