Veeam snapshot kernel module not found

Post by frueter »

Hi,

I have installed veeam on Rocky 9.5 using these comands:

Code: Select all

cd ~/Downloads
wget https://download2.veeam.com/VAL/v6/veeam-release-el9-1.0.9-1.noarch.rpm
sudo dnf install ./veeam-release-el9-1.0.9-1.noarch.rpm -y

Code: Select all

yum install blksnap veeam -y
After configuring a backup job to my NAS and running it I get this error:

Code: Select all

  19:22:47 Job BackupJob1 started at 2024-12-26 06:22:47 UTC
      19:22:52 Preparing to backup

19:23:13 [error] Failed to take volume snapshot
19:23:13 [error] Failed to perform backup
19:23:13 [error] Veeam snapshot kernel module not found
19:23:13 [error] Processing finished with errors at 2024-12-26 06:23:13 UTC
I followed teh instructions as best I could and tried to find info in the forum as well but am a bit lost.
I tried cdreating a support case but it asks about veeam version 11 or 12 but neitehr seem to apply to this from what I can tell, otherwise I would have created a case and provided the number, sorry.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers,
frank

Hello Frank,

If your system uses UEFI Secure Boot, configure it to work with Veeam Agent before running a backup job.
For details, see Configuring UEFI Secure Boot.
